Omega Systems SOC team has been actively monitoring and engaged in reviews of the ongoing vulnerability in Apache dubbed Log4J. Our partners at Fortinet have released IPS signatures to detect and block this vulnerability at your network firewall level to provide mitigation of your resources. These signatures were released last evening and your firewalls have proactively received the updates to provide protection. If you are aware of any services in your environment running Apache please reach out to your Omega Systems Technical Account Manager to discuss further remediation steps needed. This is a globally impacting vulnerability as Apache is a commonly used web server deployed across many applications and services (Steam, Apple iCloud, and Minecraft just to name a few). Configuration changes and/or updates will be needed by vendors to completely remediate the scope of this exploit however you have coverage externally by your firewalls at the current time.
